Living up to the true Vegas experience is the best way to host poker party. To get started, what you need are stacks of poker chips, decks of cards, and the famous green felt table. To add excitement to your own party, start decorating the place to make it cozier for your guests. You can use different lighting effects or prepare snacks and drinks for party-goers. Remember that good food can always keep the party going, with a li'l music on the background as a great mood enhancer. Before you start playing, decide on what type of poker game you want to play. Are you a fan of Texas Hold'em poker or are you better off with Omaha Hi/Lo? It's up to you and your friends to decide. Instead of just one poker table, you may also set up several tables for large number of guests. As a poker party host, remember to set some ground rules. Share stories and jokes that will surely draw laughters and friendly banters. This will keep players throwing in more chips, raising bets, and enjoying a long night of playing poker.

Allow me to talk about two of the poker rooms in Illinois, Hollywood Casino and the Empress River Casino. First, the Hollywood Casino, their layout is beautiful, staff are in the main, professional. One downside which I think they should work something on, the number of waitresses should be increased, you might have a problem calling one unless you are stuated at the high-stakes rooms. All told, the comps are adequate. We now go to the poker rooms in Illinois boasted of by the Empress River Casino. It is a casino pleasing to the eye, they have more or less 50,000 sq feet. They have slots, and the poker rooms would not disappoint. If you hate cigarette smoke, it is not as nicotine-filled (the air) as other major casinos, and I am thinking of Vegas. Have you ever been to a casino -so filled with smoke- that you thought you were in a hostage room being filled with tear gas? I have, but I will not tell you which casinos, I want to be fair. They might have put in non-smoking halls by now. Outside these two, there are other poker rooms in Illinois, but that my dear folks, you'd have to find on your own.

I think these two would surely qualify as excellent poker players or to put it another way, champion poker players. They are as I would put it, the 2Gs, one is Greg, the other is Gowen, let me go to Greg first. He is the "fossilman", a lawyer in the past, he embraced poker in the late nineties. If you are a patron of PokerStars, then surely, you must know that he is part of an elite group of champion poker players, the official team composed of Tom McEvoy, Moneymaker, Mercier and the lovely Evelyn Ng (I must say, not as strong as Full Tilt's, but still a formidable clique). The mirror glasses can be said to be his trademark, but I really do not think he needs those if his rationale for wearing them is to hide tells. I've seen this guy in action, and he is capable of remaining rock-still-quiet, you would be better off extracting a tell from a sleeping tree stump. Anyway, the other G: Clonie Gowen. In the history of the game, she is now considered as one of the best lady warriors of the game, alongside Harman and a few others. The competition that announced to the world that she is no ordinary player was: 2003 WPT Ladies' night, where she defeated another fire-breathing card shark, that's Annie Duke.

So, you want to join the poker chat rooms, so as not to get bored out of your mind while waiting for Opponent A and Opponent B to finish their showdown? If you have not been oriented by somebody, then you might as well log off first from the game, so that you won't be distracted. There are things you should be aware of, simple yes, but crucial. First, it would not do to join a chat room for backgammon if you do not know the first thing to the game. You would just be a "cast away" in terms of talking, I mean, after introducing yourself, what then? You would not be able to contribute, unless it's ok with you to just turn yourself into an asking machine and ask a thousand questions. There's nothing so bad with that, but you'll get some people irked, that I assure you. Check out user reviews, and I am referring to individual websites whose concentration is to either praise or bash poker chat rooms. By that alone, you would get an idea on whether the room is worth your attention or not. When you are already registered with any of the poker chat rooms, mind your manners. Like, if only English is allowed, it would not be the venue for you to display your fluency in Bahasa.

A couple of friends of mine were arguing over the age of Tuan Le ( Poker Player). I was dumbfounded, amused and discombobulated all at the same time. I asked them, "Haven't you ever heard of a Google search?"- to which the answer from one of them was, 'of course we do, do you think we're stupid?'. Well, that was exactly what I thought, but to avoid any further discussions, I asked them why they did not, and their answer- "It's a matter of principle". Well, as a matter of my personal principle, I hate to mingle if the discussion would not bear any fruit. I left them to their debate and principles. Well, the age of Tuan Le (Poker Player) - you do the math guys, born in 1978 at Paris. He is an Amercan poker pro, and his trademark in play is aggressiveness and a lot of risks.
